It’s that time of the year again! Dry air is gradually breezing in and everyone seems to be having a cold!

And unfortunately we are not yet in Year 2020, so unfortunately, no cold vaccine has been developed *sad*.

But hey, you don’t have to wait till it hits you, here are quick tips to prevent you from catching a cold this season!

  1. Wash Your Hands: This is the first rule of hygiene. Your hands pick up and house more gems than you can ever imagine. Cold is transferrable through contact with objects and human body parts that have infected droplets. Have a hand sanitizer with you always. That’s right! When you shake somebody’s hand, sanitize yours after! Just kidding.

  1. Keep Your Home Clean: Ensure you frequently clean your door knobs, countertops, remotes, drawer pulls, etc. and sinks Keep kitchen and bathroom countertops clean, especially when someone in your family has a common cold.

  1. Diet: Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. Drink at least 3 liters of water daily. Yeah, I know you hardly take in 1liter in a day and eat fruits only in your friend’s house. They help to boost your immune system. So develop a habit of eating fruits daily and drinking a lot of water.

  1. Exercise: Engage in exercises that stimulates your breathing and heart rate. These activities could range from a 2 kilometer fast walk to 30 minutes on a tread mill. You could also exercise at home by dancing to high tempo music or cleaning the house (avoid dust).

Be careful, too heavy exercises following a long period of inactivity may temporarily weaken your system.

  1. Stress: Try staying away from emotional and physical stress. Get adequate sleep daily!

Don’t kill yourself, someone else would do the work if you eventually breakdown!

  1. Avoid the following as much as you can:
  • Avoid staying long with people with a cold or sharing drinking cups and other materials with people that have a cold.
  • Avoid touching your nose, mouth, and eye if you are in the presence of someone with a cold
  • Alcohol consumption.
  • Avoid touching your nose, mouth, and eye if you have been touching surfaces in a communal area.

Recently he found out about a guy I slept with when we were separated and I did not tell him about. Before we got married we both agreed to let everything out and start fresh. I didn’t tell him. I was embarrassed bc the guy and I never actually had sex…just everything that led up to it. not to mention it was my brothers best friend and a huge mistake. well it came out recently along with some lies.
